A 501(c)(3) organization is a type of non-profit organization that is recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as exempt from federal income taxes. To be classified as a 501(c)(3) organization, a non-profit must be organized and operated exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary, or other specific purposes.
There are many different types of non-profit organizations that may qualify for 501(c)(3) status, including:
Charities: Organizations that provide direct assistance to those in need, such as food banks, homeless shelters, and disaster relief agencies.
Educational institutions: Organizations that provide educational opportunities to students, such as colleges, universities, and private schools.
Religious organizations: Churches, synagogues, mosques, and other religious institutions may qualify for 501(c)(3) status if they meet certain requirements.
Scientific and research organizations: Non-profits that conduct research in a specific field, such as medical research or environmental science.

To be recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization, Kappa Foundation of Seattle has met certain requirements, including having a clearly defined charitable purpose, operating on a non-profit basis, and having a governing board that operates in the public interest. Additionally, donations made to 501(c)(3) organizations are tax-deductible for the donor, which can help to incentivize donations and support for the non-profit’s mission.

The foundation sponsors programs that promote leadership and social development among young people. For example, the foundation sponsors leadership programs and provides resources to help young people develop current, relevant, and bleeding-edge leadership skills.
The foundation provides scholarship awards to deserving students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement. Over the years, our national foundation has awarded millions of dollars in scholarships to students across the United States.
This program provides mentorship and academic support to young men in middle and high school. Since its inception, the program has helped thousands of young men achieve academic success and become leaders in their communities
The foundation provides support to communities affected by natural disasters. For example, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the foundation provided financial support and resources to help rebuild affected communities.
The Seattle Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi has been sponsoring the Seattle Alumni Guide Right program since the 1990s. This program is a youth mentoring program in Seattle, Washington, and is affiliated with the national Guide Right program of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Its aim is to provide guidance and support to young men in the Seattle area through a range of educational, social, and cultural activities.
Seattle Alumni Guide Right focuses on fostering leadership skills, promoting academic excellence, and encouraging community service among young men. The program also offers opportunities for mentorship, career development, and personal growth. Its members are dedicated to promoting positive values, character development, and ethical behavior.

The Kappa Foundation of Seattle retains members who have had successful careers in education, consulting, technology, and business. With civics existing at the forefront, these civic-minded members dedicate their time and talent to helping boys break cycles of engagement with “dark” angels that plague our communities.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. (ΚΑΨ) is a historically African American fraternity. Since the fraternity’s founding on January 5, 1911 at Indiana University Bloomington, the fraternity has never restricted membership on the basis of color, creed or national origin though membership traditionally is dominated by those of African heritage. The fraternity has over 160,000 members with 721 undergraduate and alumni chapters in every state of the United States, and international chapters in the United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, Japan, United States Virgin Islands, Nigeria, South Africa, and The Bahamas.
The members of the Seattle Alumni Chapter, Western Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. are a non-profit, community based, achievement driven organization.
They take pride in awarding scholarships to college bound students, volunteering, providing donations, and hosting social events that raise money for various causes. Thier membership consists of members initiated at college, university, and Alumni chapters from around the country and globe.
